Dog Barking Collars

There are many different types of dog collars out there that are used to help curb the barking of the dog. If you have tried other methods and they have failed then these collars may be your line of defense. You want to make sure that you want to go this way rather than try something else. There are two different types of collars you can try.

The first collar sends a high frequency sound to the dog as he attempts to bark. This great for humans because it is one of those high pitch sounds that only a dog can hear. Every time your dog barks, the sounds are transmitted to your dog, he may wince a little but he won’t bark. It may take several takes for the dog to get used it, so don’t think that because the dog still barks that it didn’t work you have to be patient to.

The other type if collar works the same as the other but instead of a high pitch sound it emits a low voltage of electricity to the dog to control the barking. After one or two barks the dog most likely won’t bark again. But some dog owners frown upon this method because the dog appears to be in a little pain. But they were tested and put on the market but it still seems a little inhumane.

With a collar like that you should check with the vet because if your dog has a heart condition you don’t really want to send any kind of voltage through the dog. These collars have been tested and patented; they are just another option of how to prevent your dog from barking. It can’t hurt to try this method out. But if it works then they have served their purpose.
