How to Stop Dog Barking

Dogs bark as a way of communicating but there are times when you can’t control your dogs bark. Yelling at them isn’t going to stop them and some people try to throw things like shoes at barking dogs, that doesn’t work for the main reason is you have only managed to anger the dog causing it to bark more.

There are other alternatives you can take to curb your dog’s barking. One way is to get the dog a barking collar. A barking collar is worn around the neck of the dog and some collars emit a high pitch sound when the dog barks it releases the sound and the dog stops barking. This is very harmless to the dog and the dog will learn not to do bark.

Another way to prevent the dog from barking is a remedy that is a temporary fix and is not highly recommended on a long-term basis. Some dog owners muzzle their dogs. Like we mentioned, it’s a temporary fix but it’s not something you can say when the owner goes to work. The muzzle prevents barking but it also prevents the dog from drinking and eating.

Another way to stop a barking dog is called Citrus Spray, every time the dog barks; you spray the dog in the face. It is a fact that dogs hate citrus, so they will learn not to bark. The good thing about these remedies is that the dogs won’t bark constantly anymore, but you have to be careful because you don’t want your dog to stop barking altogether. You still need them to communicate to you.
