Stop Dog Barking

Why is the Dog Barking?

If you have a dog that barks constantly and don’t know what to do, you have yelled, screamed and maybe tossed a shoe over at the dog and nothing is helping. You curse the dog and just put him outside but he barks there too. What can you do? One thing you can do and it won’t cost you any money at all and is very simple: Pay Attention!

Your dog is barking because he needs something and he obviously can’t come right out and tell you. So the only other alternative is to bark his head off. If you listen when your dog “ speaks” then you may be able to cut down the barking yourself. If your dog is barking at the same time of the day everyday, then chances are he is hungry. If your dogs bark when you let him out, it could be one of two reasons. The first being he wants to come back in and the second is that he may see a cat or a bird or maybe he sees something he knows isn’t supposed to be there.

Same could be said of a dog barking in the house, he may see something out of the window such as a cat, bird, children playing or the mailman. Yes, dogs actually bark at the mailman. If your dog barks because something may not be right, reward him for a job well done. Dogs need to know that you are paying attention otherwise they will just keep barking and that will only be a headache to you because he is inside, which if he is barking then that is where you want to keep him.
